Dropped Books On Laptop

A big problem

The U.S. has a very big problem. Or rather, millions of them. I refer to extreme obesity. One thing to be fat, and quite another which unfortunately is so often the streets of, I dare say, any American city.

Already in the early days of this trip to Bethesda, I realized the amount of extreme obese, people who are seen as major problems even walking. In Australia and I got used to see some in parts of Sydney, but Bethesda are much more frequently.

And Bethesda is a suburb of the wealthy and healthy has few ° ¨ obese. When we went to Washington DC, Mineko and I saw a proportion of extreme obese tourists larger. But when we really realized, so help me the word, the dimensions of the problem was when we took a trip through the lands of Virginia, just southwest of Washington DC. It seemed to me to visit a country of giants, with people much higher than I'm used to, and much fatter. The situation was not pleasant, really, and somewhat intimidating. We were like Gullivers in the land of the giants. But these giants walked slowly and heavily.

The image of the typical American tourist is someone big and brightly colored shirt. Well, maybe the shirt they wear only when they go to the beach, but the truth is that the typical tourist in U.S. may be fatter than those who travel abroad.

In other countries like Australia, and I fear that Spain also is obese people, but America has always had people extraordinarily high. During a visit to Washington wax museum we find the figure of the first president, Washington, natural size. It was an awesome person for his height, maybe more than two meters. When high, stout people become obese, or worse, obese, extreme, scary.

few months ago I saw the film "Wall E", that tells the story of a robot in a post-apocalyptic Earth that travels to a space ship where the last humans live. These humans, used to drive and always move in zero gravity, extreme obese became unable to walk. Something I see as far back in time becomes very close to me, and without putting the excuse of lack of gravity.

The causes of the problem is seen clearly. In the United States can not live without a car. The distances between jobs, housing and shops are so big they can drive solamentese. And they have become so accustomed to the car that also used for short distances. People simply do not walk. It amazes me to see ways of walking the streets so strange that I do think that they have forgotten walk, or perhaps never learned. Walking patterns of people who never have walked a mile followed throughout his life.

and meals are exaggerated in every way. Too much salt, too much fat, too much meat, too much of everything because the portions are frighteningly large. I've had so many bad experiences when I tried to eat out, now whenever I go to spend the day I took my sandwich and I risk running out of food, as much excess all takes away my appetite. And if I dare to eat after stomach complaint.

much bad food and little walk, and what happens happens.

Even in my workplace, the National Institutes of Health, or as they say in English (the National Institutes of Health). The campus has a bus service for people not have to walk. And a colleague told me that in her place, where people deal with problems of obesity, employees left sweets and candies for patients. In my work I am studying medical texts, and I'm finding many studies acerda of obesity, how to prevent it, and its effects on health. It is a problem that concerns everyone, and the United States with more reasons. Well for starters, do something for people to eat more healthy and walk more. And please, leave something healthy instead of candy at a clinic for treatment to obese, I say.
